For two hours drill instructors confront trainees through both physical exercise and questions about their past convictions. The intense two-hour intake is designed to shock and exhaust new trainees. Treasure State accepts convicted felons, except those headed for death row. Once recommended by a judge and screened by the boot camp’s probation and parole officer, felons enter the program as trainees.
