Gil Gale stands with Forest Service horse and mule, Licorice and Jerry at one of the Bitterroot National Forest's stables in Sula, Mont. Gale manages the invasive plants and rangelands programs with the Bitterroot National Forest. Gale spent much of his first few years with the forest service on horseback - 100 days each year.
